The Story Behind The Paint Lab

Hey! I’m Hannah, and my absolute favourite thing to do is visualise an event from start to finish and then make it happen. That love of creating experiences is exactly what inspired The Paint Lab..... The idea actually started way back in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I went to a paint and sip party of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and thought, I could do something like this back home..

From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to create an all-inclusive, welcoming community where people (most people)who say they can “only draw stick men” and “but I havent painted since school“ could surprise themselves! After a few trial workshops with friends, the pandemic hit and I adapted by hosting Paint Lab Lives, taking people step by step through their own paintings at home. Some calls had 20 to 30 people, and it was amazing to see everyone create and connect virtually, I had lots of people saying how much it helped with their mental health which really was rewarding.

During that time, I decided to study to become a secondary school art teacher in Liverpool and I’ve since taught in London, Slovenia, and Dubai, working with secondary students and helping them explore their creativity.

The Paint Lab has always been my long-term goal and passion, and I have so many ideas for it. With a background in events and interior design, I know how important atmosphere and environment are and I take this into careful consideration when choosing venues. Now, workshops are tailored and themed, inspired by the seasons and the surroundings, making each event a unique, immersive experience.

I love bringing people together to paint, unwind, and create memories, and The Paint Lab continues to grow as a space where everyone, no matter their skill level, can feel inspired and proud of their work!
